Thai Spoon

We had been wanting to try Thai food for awhile, and decided while we were in Athens to give it a go. We found Thai Spoon through a quick Google search and came across this place. Someone had posted a picture of their Thai Tea, and it simply looked so yummy that we chose to stop in. That picture was not deceiving! The tea was absolutely delicious, the food was presented beautifully and super tasty. Our experience from the staff was 10/10. They were so friendly and efficient. We will be making the trip from Winder more frequently now that we have found this restaurant!

I highly recommend trying their SPICY GREEN CURRY! 🍛 It's sautéed green curry paste with coconut milk, bell peppers, bamboo shoot. eggplant, and basil leaves. As someone who thoroughly enjoys spicy flavors, I find this dish to be a true delight. I've been informed that they offer a spiciness level known as "Thai spicy," and let me tell you, it's incredibly HOT – just the way I like it! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

I am a frequent traveler for work who prefers Thai cuisine. Thus I end up as a solo diner regularly at establishments of this kind all over the East Coast. Never before have I left a restaurant fuming. I visited on a Tuesday night where occupancy was about <50% and the staff didn't appear stressed or understaffed. It wasn't a holiday or a night before one. It took 60 minutes, a whole HOUR in between when I ordered and received my green chicken curry. No exaggeration, I was on my work phone (navigation and emails) so I know exactly when I walked in and when I got my food - I ordered my food quickly at the point where they ask you for drinks ( I already know what I want at a Thai place). A group of seven who had walked in after me, ordered, ate all their food and received their check by the time my food was served. No one checked in on me while I was waiting. I was also sitting somewhere near the middle so quite visible. I had to get the attention of the other server who was getting the check for a neighboring couple sat nearby (they also ordered and finished while I was waiting). Sure my server apologized once for the delay only when she did bring my food out (but no explanation). That was it. An hour of my life wasted waiting for a basic meal I have had so many times where I am in and out of a restaurant within 45 minutes. Not this place. Never again.

I haven't been to Athens in about 20 years and decided to walk around downtown while visiting family about 30 min away. I got hungry and didn't want fast-food. I noticed the Thai Spoon and figured it would be perfect. I got the panang curry with tofu lunch special. It came with a beverage of your choice, I got hot tea. I also got a spring roll and the tom yum soup, which was delicious. My main dish was the panang curry with tofu. The spices were just the right amount. The staff was very nice and the restaurant clean. Very nice local place.
